How Much Does It Cost to Hire a Magician in Orlando?

It’s one of the first things people ask. And it’s a fair question. You’re planning an event, you want great entertainment, and you need to know whether a magician fits the budget before you go any further.

Here’s a straight answer, with no runaround.

The Short Answer

Hiring a magician in Orlando typically runs between $500 and $3,000 or more, depending on several factors. For a professional working-level performer (someone with real credits, a polished act, and corporate experience), expect to start somewhere around $1,000.

My own shows start at $1,000 and go up from there based on the details of your event.

What Actually Affects the Price

Type of Performance

There’s a big difference between a magician mingling with guests during a cocktail hour and one delivering a 45-minute stage show. Close-up magic for 50 guests costs differently than a full cabaret-style performance for 300. More on that distinction here.

Duration

A 30-minute set costs less than two hours of strolling entertainment. Most corporate events book 60 to 90 minutes of performance time. Dinner theater and full stage shows run longer and are priced accordingly.

Travel

I’m based in Orlando. Events within a couple hours of the city fall within my standard rate. Outside that range, travel costs are factored in, but I’ll always give you a clear, itemized quote before anything is signed.

Exclusivity and Customization

Custom-branded moments, exclusive holds on your date, or a bespoke piece built around your company’s theme all add to the investment. They’re worth it for the right event.

What You Get at Different Price Points

Under $500

You’re looking at hobbyist-level performers or very early-career acts. That’s fine for a casual backyard birthday. For a corporate event or anything with your company’s name attached, it’s a risk.

$500 to $999

Part-time professionals. Some are excellent, some aren’t. At this tier, credentials vary widely. Ask for video of a real performance (not just a trailer), references, and proof of liability insurance.

$1,000 to $2,500

This is the working professional range. A performer here should have a real track record, a clean act, and experience with corporate audiences. This is where most of my bookings fall.

$2,500 and Up

Headliner-tier acts. National touring performers, TV credits, marquee events. The premium is real and so is the production value.

Is It Worth It?

That depends on what you’re trying to accomplish. If you want your guests actually talking about the night three weeks later, a strong performer more than pays for itself. If you just need something in the “entertainment” box checked, you can spend less.

Most planners who’ve hired me tell me the same thing afterward: they wish they’d budgeted for it sooner and not left it as an afterthought.

How to Get an Accurate Quote

The fastest way is to tell me three things: your date, your city, and how many guests. From there I can give you a real number in one email, not a vague range that leaves you guessing.
